Kanye West
and
Kim Kardashian
are reportedly planning to tie the knot in Paris, France, on May 24.
The couple, who got engaged on Kim's 33rd birthday last October, made it clear months ago that they planned to wed in their "second home" city of Paris. They were hoping to land the historic Palace of Versailles as their venue, but were declined use of the Palace despite a reported million-dollar offer. They began looking at "private estates and chateaux" to host a small ceremony after they were turned away by officials, who feared the high-profile wedding would cause a disruption.
Kanye, 36, reportedly wanted a big, lavish wedding, while his bride-to-be is more in favor of something smaller.
"We're having a super, super small, intimate wedding," Kim told L.A. morning radio host Ryan Seacrest last week. "As we go along, we're realizing we want it to be smaller and more intimate than people are imagining and thinking."
Kimye planned on a July ceremony, but revealed early last month that they moved the date to May, and sources tell
Us Weekly
that Saturday the 24th is the official date.
Britain's Mail Online reports that Kim has shown interest at the Chateau d'Usse as the place for the wedding, which is about three hours southwest of Paris.
The wedding will be Kanye's first, while Kim was previously married to music producer Damon Thomas and NBA basketball player Kris Humphries.
